Dr. Virgilio Matheus is a board-certified neurosurgeon at the Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute. He has extensive training in complex spine issues, and his expertise includes treating brain, spine and peripheral nerves, herniated disks, tumors of the spine, spinal diseases and deformities, spine fractures and trauma, scoliosis, hydrocephalus, and cerebrovascular diseases. Dr. Matheus received his medical training from the J.M. Vargas School of Medicine at Central University of Venezuela in Caracas. He completed his residency in neurological surgery and his fellowship in complex spine surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. Dr. Matheus is fluent in English and Spanish, and he enjoys swimming and scuba diving.
