Shawn Larson, MD, FACS

Hello, my name is Dr Shawn Larson and I am a professor, tenure track, and interim chief of the division of pediatric surgery within the University of Florida College of Medicine department of surgery. I focus on all aspects of the field of pediatric surgery and have special interests in pediatric trauma, pediatric burn care, neonatal surgery and gastrointestinal surgery (including minimally invasive pediatric surgery). I also serve as the medical director for the UF Health Shands Children's Hospital Pediatric Trauma & Burn Program. My research interests include gastrointestinal physiology and immunology focusing on necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), neonatal and pediatric response to sepsis, pediatric trauma and pediatric burn care.
