Marays Veliz, MD

Dr. Veliz is an oncologist and hematologist for Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in Sumter, Marion, and Lake Counties. Her father's cancer diagnosis inspired her decision to specialize in Oncology. She considers it an honor to be part of her patient's care and finds it rewarding to draw on the many options now available to personalize treatment plans that allow them to enjoy their best quality of life. After receiving her medical degree in Cuba, Dr. Veliz completed Internal Medicine residency training and was named Chief Resident, at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She was awarded a fellowship in Oncology/Hematology at the University of South Florida H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa.
