In 1943, Florida Fruit Distillers opened in Lake Alfred, FL. One of the first plants to start distilling from citrus fruits while grain alcohol was being redirected toward the war efforts, this Lake Alfred location became the state’s first registered distillery. Changing ownership over the years brought on different strategies and the creation of many new flavors and end products.
