Dr. Avery Buchholz is a neurosurgeon with the Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute. He is board-certified in spinal surgery and specializes in complex deformities of the spine. Dr. Buchholz earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in Charleston. He received his medical degree and a master’s degree in public health with a concentration in injury prevention at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Dr. Buchholz completed a neurological surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he served as chief resident in his final year. He also completed a complex spine fellowship and was an AO Spine fellow at the University of Virginia.
